This is for set two of the assignments for this week. I looked ahead and saw that we would be doing this and I saw the perfect opportunity after a storm on June 3rd, 2014. Each picture was taken 6 minutes apart to show just how much of a difference things can look while the sun is setting. The only downside is that I did not have my Canon 60D with me so these were taken with an iPhone 5s using the HDR setting. All three photos are unedited.

These are fantastic. I love sunset photos to begin with but to show it over a series of a few minutes shows how quickly it changes and how drastically it changes too. I particularly like the second photo with the range of pinks and purples in the clouds and the dark tree line below.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It really is amazing how quickly light changes and you have captured perfect examples of this.
ReplyDeleteReally nice photos Ben. And the fact that you captured them on your iPhone makes them even more amazing. Cameras on phones have sure come a long way.
ReplyDeleteI like how the colors changed so quickly but I love how these photos show how the different lighting softened the edges of the clouds when you look at the second photograph and the third. The second one still has some sharp lines but by the third photo is has all softened to more of a glow.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. It adds an extra layer of fascination that you timed them, and shared the time apart. It inspired me to learn more about the HDR setting on my iPhone.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Especially with a phone's camera. I really love how you took them every few minutes. The sky seems so slow moving but it is really dynamic and I think you've captured that beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job capturing the night sky. I'm looking forward to some warm summer sunsets!
