For the first color adjusted photo I used a picture taken from my front deck when the sun was rising one day in the winter. I started by adjusting the red color and added some contrast as well as darkening the picture. I didn't like how the trees were so visible on the bottom. It looked too grey so I kind of made the trees blend in with the mountains.
For the second one, I'll admit I went too overboard on the saturation. The reason I did this is to emphasize the color of the rock structure, but I guess I should have just used the lasso tool and did it that way because I don't love how the mountain in the background came out too orange. I do like the greenery being saturated though.

I like the second photo. The way you manipulated it, gives it more depth.
ReplyDeleteThe rock photo looks like the sun is very strong in the background. Great job!
ReplyDeleteEven though you think you went overboard on the saturation I like it. I think if the mountain stayed more grey and the rocks were the reddish it might look weird together but these compliment each other. It also changed the colors of the trees nicely.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the rock photo quite a lot. I think the red of the pile and the yellowing of the mountain go together really nicely. It gives the image an almost deserty feel, in spite of the obvious evergreen trees.
ReplyDeleteThe oversaturation works very well here. One thing you could try is to isolate the rocks with the selection tools and pull the saturation back a bit on it and I think you will be very pleased with the result. Keep experimenting!
